About Sandra

I live locally in Bognor Regis, and I am a qualified Registered General Nurse, working with the elderly and those with dementia for 25 years. I own a small Care Home, and I am therefore well aware of the issues facing our elderly relatives, around their long term care and support needs, and I do have concerns about the low levels of funding awarded by social services to clients, which restrict choice and create a two tier system.

I have two sons now young adults, who attended Felpham Community College, who both struggle with dyslexia. My eldest son had a statement of special educational needs and so I understand the difficulties and challenges faced by parents when such problems arise.

My son Adam Cunard operates the Picturedrome Cinema, which offers local people great value for money, and I am proud to be associated with that business.

I’m Secretary of the Bognor Regis District Chamber of Commerce and also Secretary of the recently formed ‘Friends of Bognor Regis Pier’ which aims to raise funds to safeguard the Pier for future generations.

I regularly help at the Bognor Regis Birdman event, and help to raise money for the seafront lights and I very much support the idea of extending the lighting along the esplanade from Bognor through to Felpham.

I am an elected member of Arun District Council and Bognor Regis Town Council where I am chairman of the Neighbourhood Plan Committee. I was Town Mayor in 2010/11. I have been a councillor since 2003 and so I have a great deal of experience to bring to Felpham as your County Councillor.
